Isolation and molecular characterization of Campylobacter jejuni from chicken and human stool samples in Egypt

Two hundred broiler chicken samples, 160 laying samples and 75 human stool were collected in Egypt. The microbiologically examined, the C. jejuni isolates confirmed biochemically by PCR targeting mapA gene of jejuni. prevalence cadF virulence was then determined using PCR. A total 17.33%, 17% 11.87% stool, respectively, positive for jejuni, with a 66 Campylobacter (15.17%). Ten (15.15%) carried (7.69%, 20.58% 10.52% respectively). Phylogenetic investigation demonstrated that two from had high homology other samples. Moreover, amino acid sequence alignment revealed mutation these zoonotic significance. present results support possible risk transmitting highly virulent as foodborne pathogen both layer chickens to Active on-farm biosecurity measures on farms more hygienic efforts slaughter houses, local shops should be made effective control this disease.
